We believe in coaching for all levels of performance. Coaching is more a “pull” from the individual for answers and attentiveness for effective ways to develop strengths than it is a one-way push of information from a coach about poor performance.  We believe individuals own their own development and drive their own careers; coaches guide.  Individuals thrive when they can work autonomously so a coach is always on the side not in front of the coachee.  Effective coaches employ strategic questioning to provoke thought and effective dialogue.

Focused Development

TISOMO consultants are experienced coaches. Having more than 25 years of combined experience working in both the private and public sector, we have coached at every level— from C-Suite executives to frontline supervisors—on topics including leadership, performance, employee relations, compensation, and culture. Once coaching needs and outcomes are identified, coaching is delivered in the most appropriate and effective way: one-to-one; team-based; interdepartmental teams; or technology-enabled (call/video-conferencing).

Our Coaching Model

Crafted from the latest research findings regarding optimal performance, we created our own unique model of coaching.  The model reflects our firm beliefs in coaching for all levels of performance:  average, above average, and below average.  Our model of coaching is dependent on the coachee taking an active role in his/her performance and career; expressing expectations for his or her own optimal performance; asking questions that focus attention on priority topics; and keeping his/her manager apprised of  outcomes, and as importantly, changes to work and career goals.

TCG uses an acronym to describe its coaching model:

  • Converse
  • Observe results
  • Ask questions
  • Clarify expectations
  • Hold accountable

In addition to our coaching services including executive coaching, TISOMO conducts a Train-the-Trainer program for leaders to acquire the skills to build internal capability using the TISOMO model.  An internal capability offers organizations several benefits:

  • a way to foster autonomy in the workforce thereby aligning it to the science of optimal performance
  • when used with frequency, this way of coaching functions like a tool for implementing agile methodology – a way to quickly introduce ideas for improvement, try them, evaluate results, and move forward
  • a cultural shift away from a top-down ways of working
  • it rounds out development by going beyond training in a classroom by offering leaders, managers, and employees ways to develop through experience (This is an example of the best practice of development referred to as the 70/20/10 model.)
  • lessens the need for coaching services to be outsourced except for executive coaching, which is most effective when conducted by a coach who is not part of the organization

Each of us has a blind spot that can prevent us from achieving optimal performance. To reveal a blind spot, we use the following assessments (instruments) and the reports they generate to improve inter-personal effectiveness and performance.
